London Cartel International Auto Show – South of England Show Ground

DSC_0393Cars have always been a big part of my life since I have been old enough to drive. They have provided me with a bottomless bucket to throw any disposable income into, they have caused me stress, blood, sweat and swearwords...They have also brought me much joy and enabled me to learn a lot of home mechanics and feel accomplished that I can take on practical challenges using these skills.

Faroe Islands

DSC_0001 Of all the countries I've visited, the Scandinavian nations are by far and away my favourite. I'm a fan of colder climates and having already visited Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Denmark; the somewhat obscure allure of the Faroe Islands seemed to be the sensible choice for my next destination.

Nordschleife, Nürburg – Germany

DSC_0470 The proximity of Landgraaf to Germany and specifically the town Nürburg makes it convenient for a day trip to the infamous Nurbürgring or Nordschleife racing circuit otherwise known as Grüne Hölle - "Green Hell". Anyone who knows me will know that I have an obsession with cars and a particular interest in German cars (you may notice from my photos that I have a desire for a particular brand of German automobiles) the Nürburgring was a dream destination.

Venice – Italy

DSC_0230 Venice has never been a place I was desperate to see. The city for me is a bit of a 'romantic cliché.' It's where people go to propose to their significant other (you know who you are!). However its proximity to Pula in Croatia made it a convenient day trip to see what all the fuss was about.

Switzerland

The first stop in our trip to Switzerland was Zurich. Arriving early in the morning we started as we meant to go on, by walking. Walking very long distances! We explored the city on foot and by tram. The weather was glorious and unexpectedly hot. After monitoring weather forecasts closely we had prepared for rain but as with previous short breaks... We got lucky!
