To celebrate mine and Nadine's 30th Birthdays we booked a long haul, activity packed trip to Banff National Park, Alberta. The trip would centre around visiting the world famous ski resorts in the area and be supplemented with a range of other outdoor winter activities.

Lofoten Islands – Norway
I don't often return to places I have been before as I would prefer to invest my money and time in seeing new things, trying new foods and getting new photos, however I have a particular love for Norway since visiting Tromsø in 2014.
Nordschleife, Nürburg – Germany
The proximity of Landgraaf to Germany and specifically the town Nürburg makes it convenient for a day trip to the infamous Nurbürgring or Nordschleife racing circuit otherwise known as Grüne Hölle - "Green Hell". Anyone who knows me will know that I have an obsession with cars and a particular interest in German cars (you may notice from my photos that I have a desire for a particular brand of German automobiles) the Nürburgring was a dream destination.
Venice – Italy
Venice has never been a place I was desperate to see. The city for me is a bit of a 'romantic cliché.' It's where people go to propose to their significant other (you know who you are!). However its proximity to Pula in Croatia made it a convenient day trip to see what all the fuss was about.
Istria – Croatia
Having scoured 'Skyscanner' for reasonable flights during the school summer holidays, we found the only flights that looked vaguely sensible in price were to Croatia. We saved more money by opting to travel to one of the lesser-known airports - Pula on the Istrian peninsula.

Krakow – Poland
The next stop in my aim to visit as many European countries as possible took me to Krakow, Poland. It was a very chilly visit with temperatures dropping to -8ºC at times.
Iceland – Day Three

Iceland – Day Two
Day 2 of the Iceland trip took us 370km east of Reykjavik towards Jökulsárlón - A glacier lagoon on the south coast of Iceland. We made several stops along the way and thankfully, unlike Day 1 there were far fewer tourists along this trail.
Iceland – Day One
Iceland has the most stunning and varied landscape I have ever seen. The country is a photographer's dream and for this reason my Iceland post is going to span 3 separate blog entries!
